The Seimitsu LS-32-SC joystick is identical to the Seimitsu LS-32 model but has a black shaft cover fitted by default. This joystick is ideal for those customers who don’t want the silver shaft of the joystick showing and prefer the black shaft cover instead, especially when colour matching or when colour is important for modding a fight stick etc.
The Seimitsu LS-32-SC arcade joystick features a light spring pressure with short travel and is the joystick of choice for 2D beat 'em up and shoot ‘em up games. Seimitsu are a highly respected name in Japan for manufacturing quality arcade components and each Seimitsu LS-32-SC joystick comes fitted with a flat SE mounting plate, dust cover, black shaft cover, 35mm ball top handle in a choice of colour and also features a 2-4-8 way adjustable restrictor on the bottom of the joystick.

Better than my stock Zippyy stick
I purchased this to replace the stock Zippyy stick that comes with the Pimoroni Picade kit. It's a easy replacement, the holes are all in the correct place (default SE mounting plate). I was hoping for a looser more fluid feeling joystick that wasn't as clicky. This joystick is slightly looser and feels better than the Zippyy, but it's not a massive difference. It is a bit less clicky too. This makes playing shooters etc more enjoyable. What I did find is that it actually makes playing Pacman LESS precise, as it's now easier to move the joystick diagonally - I guess I could use the restrictor plate to limit the joystick to 4-directions, but it would be a hassle to keep opening the cab to move the restrictor plate depending on what game I was playing. So I guess it's a bit of a trade off - if you want a smoother, more fluid 8-way joystick experience, then get this. But if you're playing the early 4-way joystick classics, then you might be better with a cheap clicky stick. It's still not massively loose feeling, but I guess you can replace the spring to get that if required. Oh yeah, and I was hoping that the included joystick ball wouldn't have a seam, but unfortunately it does. It's gone up in price since I bought it (I paid £15 inc VAT). Certainly, a decent improvement over a stock joystick but you'd probably get a better bang-for-your-buck improvement replacing cheap buttons with premium ones first.
