The Sanwa JLFD-TP-8YT is similar to the JLF-TP-8YT joystick but with one neat feature; a detachable shaft. This is ideal for easy transportation in fight stick back packs or when travelling to tournaments etc. Removing the shaft of the JLFD-TP-8YT is very easy - simply turn and unscrew in an anti-clockwise direction. Each Sanwa JLFD-TP-8YT joystick comes complete with a flat mounting plate, 2 x dust covers, TP-MA board with soldered microswitches and a detachable shaft with clear shaft cover. Customers can choose to order this joystick with OR without a Sanwa LB-35 ball top handle. (Please select from the drop down at the time of order) This joystick features light spring pressure but can easily be modified if you prefer a stiffer feel, by adding a different spring, such as a Seimitsu LS-55 spring, 2LB tension spring or 4LB tension spring.
By default, this joystick has a square restrictor gate and is set to 8 way. This can easily be changed to 4 way mode by simply removing the plastic restrictor, lifting the centre piece and rotating it to the 4 way position. We also sell the Sanwa GT-Y octagonal gate if you prefer more precise 8 way control for games like Street Fighter, which will allow you to pull off combo moves with ease.
Detaching the shaft:
To remove the shaft from the JLFD-TP-8YT joystick, simply unscrew in an anti-clockwise direction.
Sanwa JLF shaft covers will NOT fit the JLFD-TP-8YT joystick, due to it's unique design.

Sanwa LB-35 ball top handles
Sanwa LB-30N bat top handles
Kori translucent bat top handles

How To Identify A Genuine Sanwa JLFD-TP-8YT Joystick:
We have been importing genuine Sanwa parts from Japan for many years. You can be reassured that all our Sanwa parts are 100% genuine and we only deal direct with the factory. There are other sellers and companies on the internet that advertise Sanwa parts as genuine, when in fact, this may not be true.
Ways to identify:
1 - The mounting plate on a genuine Sanwa joystick will have an oily sheen, unlike copies, which will look dull and grey in colour and not feel smooth.
2 - 2 x dust covers will always be included.
3 - The restrictor gate will feature a gold dot along with the Sanwa brand name.
Connecting To A Screw Terminal PCB:
To connect the Sanwa JLFD-TP-8YT joystick to a screw terminal PCB such as the I-PAC2, you would choose the JLF-H cable option.
Connecting To A Venom Fight Stick:
To connect the Sanwa JLFD-TP-8YT joystick to a Venom PS4 fight stick, you will require the JST-XH Female To Female Connector Cable
Compatible Restrictor Gates:
Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Gate
Sanwa GT-2F 2 Way Restrictor
QanBa Octagonal Restrictor Gate
QanBa Round Restrictor Gate
Mounting Plate Dimensions:
* Detachable shaft (Ideal for easy transportation)

Sanwa JLF Joystick Product Codes Explained
There is often some confusion with the product codes for Sanwa joysticks and we often get asked to explain/help with the different codes. To try and explain the product codes, please see below. We hope this information helps and makes the different models of joystick easier to understand.
The most popular model with flat mounting plate attached.
Similar to the JLF-TP-8YT but has a detachable shaft
Same joystick as the JLF-TP-8YT but with the flat mounting plate removed
Same Joystick as the JLF-TP-8Y but with a JLF-P-1S stepped mounting plate attached
JLF-CD Shaft Cover Set
By adding a black shaft cover set to the above models adds -SK to the end of the product code. For example: a JLF-TP-8YT fitted with a black shaft cover set becomes a JLF-TP-8YT-SK.
Great Sanwa stick as always with excellent feel and quality parts. The removable shaft was easy to install and take off meaning I could fit my Venom arcade stick enclosure into a bag or cuboard drawer with no hassle. The Only downside I would say is the clear shaft cover is specially deisgned for this joystick so try to keep to the one you get supplied somewhere safe as spare ones don't seems to be available yet.
