Customise Your Gaming Experience with Alutimo
Alutimo Series are switch swappable, meaning you can easily swap out the switches for any CHERRY MX compatible switch. You can even use switches with a deeper actuation point with the optional shim.
A guide for the enthusiast.
Disassembling Alutimo (Please proceed at your own risk.)
1: Remove outer cap.
2: Push the center point of the MX switch via push out tool. You can feel the inner lock has got off with a click sound. Caution: You will cut your fingers without this push out tool.
3: Remove the inner cap and swap the switch or shims.
Assembling Alutimo
1: Install the contact cylinders. You will need tweezers.
2: Install the shims on the switch.
3: Assemble the inner cap and switch before you install these to the rim. You need to assemble strong because the clearance of the inner cap and the switch stem is tight. You have to insert them deeply. The button will work even if you did not insert them deeply. But it will not reach the correct actuation point.
4: Install the assembled unit into the rim. You need to be careful not to bend the MX switch pins.
5: Install the outer cap.
Please Note:
* This product has been tested to work with the CHERRY MX red and silver axes. The switch terminals may be bent when installing the switch into the holder. The conversion of other compatible switches involves risks. Please proceed at your own risk.
* CHERRY MX switches have individual differences in the actuation points and the buttons may not respond with or without the shim after changing the switch. If the button does not respond, adjust the height by changing the thickness of the shim or increasing the number of the shim.
* Please be careful not to bend the .110 fastener when installing a quick-release terminal into the holder. This can cause a short circuit.
* The switch can be easily removed from the switch holder by using the optional push-out tool.
