The Sanwa Silent JLF-TPRG-8BYT-SK (Version B) joystick is very similar to the Version A Sanwa silent joystick but with one noticeable difference - A stiffer feel. This Version B silent joystick features Omron branded D2RV-G-SD3 microswitches, which have high tension springs inside, which translates to a stiffer feel during movement and a faster return to neutral. This (Version B) Sanwa silent joystick features a dedicated 8-way square restrictor gate in a striking blue colour. The restrictor gate on this silent Sanwa joystick is moulded in one piece and does not have the centre piece that can be turned for 4-way, unlike the restrictor gate on a standard Sanwa JLF joystick.

We also sell the (Version A) Sanwa silent joystick with softer tension.
Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK (softer tension) joystick can be ordered here: Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Arcade Joystick - Version A

Just what you are looking for

Posted by Paul Wardle Millar on 18th Sep 2019

Just what you are looking for if you want a silent tournament stick, I’ve matched mine with silent OBSF 30 buttons and got just what I wanted. It’s pricey compared to a standard JLF but worth it if you want that pro feel. The tension is very similar to the standard TP-MA. I’ll probably move the switches & gate over to my OTTO V2 kit to give it that more constant feel. I matched it up with a Phreakmods Link shaft at the same time of fitted and it’s turned out great. Super speedy service as usual from ArcadeWorld. 10/10 from me ;)

    Hori RAP v5 replacement

Posted by Martin on 7th Jun 2019

I replaced joystick in hori RAP v5 xbox/pc version. It is 20 min max job and it works out of box. I personally prefer this joystick to hori original one. I also added 30MM FOAM WASHER SILENCER FOR SANWA/SEIMITSU BUTTONS to 8 main buttons (available from arcadeworld). Noise level now it equivalent to drumming fingers on desktop.
I play Tekken on both PC/XBOX. I could not play in same room when somebody else watch TV etc. Now it is not issue. Really like new setup. I like arcadeworld services.

    Same Sanwa quality but silent

Posted by Manny D. on 27th Jul 2017

This joystick offers the same (if not better) quality I've come to expect from Sanwa joysticks but without audio feedback from the switches. If you're used to noisier joysticks this will take some getting used to. The blue one piece gate also gives an edge over the standard JLF as there is no chance of the insert moving slightly due to wear and tear. If you're looking for a replacement joystick with a silent edge, I would definitely recommend this joystick.
